I want to buy a small boat, and was wondering what a good model would be. I’m not planning on sail around the world, but i want something big enough that four people could stay on for a couple of days.

Thanks for the replys. Im not looking for a sailboat. I’m mainly wanting it just to cruise up the tennesse river maybe take it to the coast everynow and then.

It seems that like the housing market, the “boat” market has also fallen off. Im referring to boats between 40 and 75 feet. Sail or power.

What type of boat/yacht..(i.e size, price etc.) would be just right for crossing such a large stretch of water?
My budget is small-ish so I can’t go for nothing too big but safety is a big concern so I don’t want to spend less by sacrificing safety.
It will be me and one other person so only one bed would be needed as we will rotate shifts. Comfort is not a concern.
Any advice, tips suggestions would be great!

I wanted to do something different so after brainstorming , we came up with the idea of having my party on a yacht. Approximately 30 guests.
I live in Los Angeles.
Need it for about 8 hours ( day hours preferably)

This weekend we are taking a boat trip down a river and we can stop and explore any time you want to. Tell me what the river is like: is it calm, choppy, does it have waterfalls. Are we on a raft, ship, rowing boat, yacht? What’s the shore like: is it sandy, bushy, rocky, what can you see further in land: ruins, a temple, a McDonalds? On one of our stops you have to collect three things to take home with you. What are these?
